Privacy Policy
Last updated: 5 May 2026
This page explains, in plain English, what information we collect when you use Print & Return @ Ozari, why we collect it, how we keep it safe, and your rights over it. We've written it the way we'd want to read it ourselves.
Who we are
Print & Return @ Ozari is operated by Ozari Collective (ABN 39 400 756 232), based at 63/14–16 Woodville Street, Hurstville NSW 2220. We're an Australian small business and we comply with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), even though our small turnover means we're not strictly required to. We think it's the right baseline.
What we collect, and why
1. Order information
When you submit a print job, we collect:
- Your name and contact (mobile or email) — so we can let you know your order is ready, and so you can prove it's yours at the desk.
- The files you upload — so we can print them.
- Job specs (paper size, copies, etc.) — so we charge you the right amount.
- Optional notes for the team — only if you choose to add them.
2. Technical information
We use Google Firebase to host this service. Firebase automatically logs basic technical information about each request (your IP address, browser type, timestamps) for the purpose of keeping the service running and protecting it from abuse. We don't read these logs ourselves except to investigate problems.
3. Local-device data (in your browser, not on our servers)
If you've previously submitted an order, your browser's localStorage remembers your name and contact so the form pre-fills next time. This data lives only on your device. You can clear it any time via the "Not me?" button on the form, or by clearing site data in your browser settings.
How we use it
We use your information for one main purpose: to fulfil your order. That includes:
- Printing your file(s) and notifying you when they're ready
- Processing payment when you collect
- Following up if there's a problem with the order
- Maintaining a brief order history for normal record-keeping
We do not use your information to send marketing emails, build advertising profiles, or share with third parties for their commercial purposes. We don't run trackers on this site beyond what's needed for the service to work.
How long we keep things
Files you upload
Your file is deleted as soon as your order is paid and collected. The team marks your order "paid & released" at the desk, which automatically removes the file from our storage at the same moment.
If you don't collect your order within 24 hours, your file is automatically deleted by our scheduled cleanup job, and we'll send you an email letting you know. This is a deliberate privacy choice — we don't want to hold uploaded documents any longer than necessary. If you still want to print the job, just submit it again.
This 24-hour window is shorter than the maximum permitted under the Uncollected Goods Act 1995 (NSW), which would otherwise allow us to retain low-value uncollected goods for up to 28 days before disposal. We've voluntarily chosen the tighter timeframe because uploaded files are sensitive and there's no good reason to keep them longer than needed to fulfil the order. For physical goods printed but uncollected (rare), the Act's standard timeframes apply.
Order summary record
A short summary of each order (order #, total, your name and contact, status history) is retained as per standard business record-keeping protocols. This summary does not include your uploaded files.
Where your data lives
We use Google Firebase (Firestore database, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions) hosted in the australia-southeast1 region (Sydney). Your data does not leave Australia in normal operation. Email notifications are sent via Resend (US-based service); this means your name and email pass through Resend's servers in the United States solely for the purpose of email delivery.
Who can see your data
- Ozari Collective team members at Hurstville — to fulfil your order. Each team member signs in with their own account and we limit access to what they need.
- Our service providers (Google, Resend) — under their terms of service. They cannot access content for their own purposes.
- Law enforcement — only if compelled by valid legal process (e.g. subpoena, warrant). We have never received such a request and would push back on any that overreached.
Your rights
You can ask us, at any time, to:
- See what we hold about you
- Correct anything that's wrong
- Delete your data (subject to legal record-keeping obligations)
- Withdraw consent for future use
Email print@ozari.com.au. We aim to respond within 7 days.
Security
We use strict Firestore and Storage security rules so that one customer can't see another customer's files or data. Connections are encrypted via HTTPS. Anonymous Firebase authentication ties your submission to a temporary token on your device — only you and our team can access your specific order.
No system is perfectly secure. If we ever discovered a data breach affecting you, we'd notify you promptly under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
Cookies & tracking
We don't use advertising cookies, analytics trackers, or third-party pixels. The site uses localStorage for the "remember me" prefill (described above) and Firebase's auth mechanism for keeping you signed in to your anonymous session.
Children
Print & Return @ Ozari is intended for general use. If you're under 16, please have a parent or guardian help you submit orders.
Changes to this policy
If we update this policy, we'll change the date at the top and note any meaningful changes here. Your continued use of the service means you agree to the current version.
